Mission
Women for Social Innovation provides philanthropic investments in emerging social entrepreneurs whose ideas hold promise for improving the lives of women, girls, or families in the Greater Philadelphia area.
About Women for Social Innovation
Throughout the nation, individuals – especially women – are creating “Giving Circles” to share a collaborative process of hands-on philanthropy. Women for Social Innovation (WSI) is a Giving Circle that supports emerging social entrepreneurs whose ideas hold promise to improve life for women, girls, or families in the Greater Philadelphia area. The core membership of WSI reflects a diversity of age, philanthropic experience, professions and interests. Women for Social Innovation is a donor advised fund of WOMEN’S WAY.
Every year, this giving circle solicits applications from the public, evaluates each applicant in line with its guidelines, and awards the Turning Point Prize.
2011-2012 Members
Women for Social Innovation is a membership organization currently limited to 35 women. Each member contributes annually to the fund and is eligible to participate in general meetings, committees, and workgroups and to vote for the Turning Point Prize recipient. Prospective members are invited to join by the Executive Committee.
Officers of WSI are elected annually at the annual meeting by a majority of members present, for a two year term, and may serve for two consecutive terms.
